Ferns boots crunched against the snow that was falling onto the ground. She smiled, and a flake landed on her fingertip. Suddenly she was hit by a snowball in the back of the coat. She span around, expecting someone to be there, but nobody was.
Even though it was snowing, she was walking to school. She was in the park which she would've normally ridden through on her bike. Through the fence she could see the little kids playing on snow covered play grounds, their cheeks pink, their faces lit up with glee.
She smiled and headed through the shortcut though the trees to school.

Rachael turned around to face her locker and tried to reach the dail for the combination. She failed.

"I'll save you." Rhianna pulled Rachael's arm.

Her sleeve didn't come out. Rachael laughed. "You'll have to open my locker." She whispered the code into Rhianna's ear.

Rhianna unlocked the locker. "Thank you, thank you." she said bowing.

"Hahaha." Rachael said sarcasticly. "Now let's get to class! We've been out here too long already!"

They rushed to the classroom.

The teacher glanced at them and then resumed writing down what to do on the whiteboard. Thank God the art teacher was nice.

Rhianna immediately began to complete a drawing.

Rachale sat down at her and Rhianna's usual spot and whipped out her arts diary. She opened it to the page on shading.

Rhianna bit her lip, concentrating.

"Since when do you need to concentrate on art?" Rachael whispered.

"Since I want to get this right...Done."

"Okay then.." Rachael went back to shading around the triangles. Dark to light, hard to soft. That was the key.

Rhianna turned the page and started to sketch.

"Yes!" Rachael whispered happily. "We can do free drawing!"

Rhianna grinned. "And we have the whole lesson to do it in!"

"I know!" She started drawing cartoons, like always.

Rhianna continued drawing cartoons and other random things.

Rachael drew a bug. "Look! It's my brother!"

"Are you sure? I think it might be a bug."

Rachael put her forehead on the desk. "That was the point."

"Sorry, could I sit here?" Maeve asked.

Rachael smiled. "Sure." She moved her mess in front of her.

"Hi, person-I've-seen-but-don't-actually-know, what's your name?"

Rachael leaned over to her friend. "I'm pretty sure her name's Maeve." She whispered.
